ERNI Slips Up
The Edwards Real Nanotech Index slipped back a little last week, after weeks of hefty gains, unable to buck the decline in the overall market, particularly small cap stocks. Only ERNI components Raymor Industries and Arrowhead Research managed gains.
Altair Nanotechnologies reported first quarter results on May 9: $500, 000 in revenues vs. $1 million last year, and a $4.56 million loss. Hardly inspiring. The big hope for the company appears now to be its lithium ion battery materials.
JMAR Technologies reported March quarter losses of $2.3 million on $2.4 in revenues, almost all from government contracts. The BioSentry bioterror surveillance/diagnostic product seems to be the most hopeful for the company in the near term.
