ERNI Rocks On!
The Edwards Real Nanotech kept on with its winning ways in the most recent week, rising almost 3%. Most of the individual components were also positive. There was some news, as well, to support the higher prices. For instance, Abraxis Bioscience reported record first quarter earnings. Revenues were up 19% to $143.8 million, including $30.1 million in sales of Abraxane, its nanoparticle drug. Nanophase reported first quarter revenues of just over $2 million; unfortunately the company is still reporting losses, $1.5 million for the latest quarter. Nucryst Pharmaceuticals will announce its results on Wednesday, May 3rd.
Motley Fool’s Dan Bloom is bullish on ERNI component Veeco. “I think there's enough upside potential to warrant holding Veeco for the balance of the decade,” say he. Because of continued growth in each of its major markets, semiconductor, LED, wireless, and data storage, Bloom sees Veeco as a good stock for the long term. Bloom sees nanotech as only a “wildcard” that may possibly add significantly to revenue in the future. Danny-Boy, get with the program. Nanotech will be an integral part of all the markets mentioned in the near future.
