ERNI Regains Footing

The Edwards’ Real Nanotech Index (ERNI) went back to its winning ways last week, with the resurgence of the general market on Thursday and Friday. JMAR and Arrowhead Research were the only components down on the week. JMAR is in danger of losing its NASDAQ listing if it can’t get its stock price above $1.00 in the next six months. The company still meets the equity requirements, however.

The only real news of note came from NVE Corp., which received a $730.000 grant from the Department of Defense to develop a magnetic anti-tamper sensor. Presumably this will be a fancy spintronic device. I’m not sure what an anti-tamper sensor is—the press release didn’t go into detail. I guess if the DoD wanted us to know, they would tell us more. Abraxis Bioscience announced a raft of personnel changes, most seem to relate to the company’s ambition to become a global player in the pharmaceutical industry.

Memorial Day

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day week-end. Certainly the weather was beautiful here. May the day come when the carnage stops and no more names are added to the lists of heroes that need memorializing.
