"Too many, damn vampires."

In the classic movie, "The Lost Boys", grandpa's last words are, "One thing I've always hated about Sunnyvale . . . too many, damn vampires."

Today, in our universe of interest, there are too many, "damn", good technologies!

Strangely, there is NOW a veritable plethora of really interesting technologies, incredibly too much good science, too many significant, wonderful and exciting products and enhancements to products.

There is PLENTY of money, too.

BUT

There is NOWHERE near enough management expertise and investment expertise to move anywhere near all of it forward.

A word to the wise . . . if you think you've got a great technology, worthy of funding . . . unfortunately for you . . . you've got plenty of company . . . and, oddly, you're mostly all correct.

In 2007 and 2008, most good projects are going to fail to get funding and go NOWHERE.

The scientists' and IP attorneys' output is DWARFING the investment world's ability to keep up.

Sorry, but there really is too much of a good thing and, in this case, the good is driving down valuations across the board - Dramatically . . . and it's going to get a lot worse.
